The girls soccer team brought home a third place title at the MO-KAN Challenge tournament with a win against Lee’s Summit North.

Neither team was able to score during the first half despite the Huskies attempting five shots to LSN’s one. However, with seven minutes left in the second half, Kara Priest scored with an assist from Cece Kizer. The final score was 1-0.

Head coach Rick Pribyl said the game went well, but the team still has work to do.

“We pass the ball, but we’re not in rhythm yet,” Pribyl said. “That just takes time, and that requires people running off the ball when they don’t have the ball and things like that.”

With the total number of shots on goal being 12-2 BVNW, Pribyl said BVNW’s midfield made the difference between them and LSN.

Senior midfielder Kala Brundige said she hopes the team improves on finishing their shots.

“I hope that we can keep stringing together passes and making plays, but get a finish or two in for next time.”
