The boys baseball team continued their win streak after blowing out Blue Valley North (BVN), 12-2, last night.Due to the mercy rule, the game ended at the sixth inning since the Huskies had earned 10 runs within the first five innings.

Head coach Corby Lange said that although the game ended with a win, the team did not finish the game the way that they should have.

“We did not finish that game,” Lange said. “We talk about playing every pitch all the way through, playing every inning and out-competing our opponents, and if we want to be as good as some of the kids have talked about we’ve got to play every pitch and finish ball games.”

Although the game ended early and the boys did not get the oppurtunity to finish the game, Lange said that there were some positves of the game and that offensively, the team did well.

“Kids got into counts, got their pitch, they took big swings, they also hit the ball hard on a line, offensively it was a very good day,” Lange said.

Senior second basemen Jackson Fuller believes that overall the team played well despite some difficulties within the first and fifth innings.

“They threw a lot of curveballs to us, so that was hard to adjust to in the first inning, but we came back and we got them,” Fuller said. “We lost a lot of energy in the fifth inning and were going to have to pick that up on our next game, just by staying more in the game and staying more focused.”

Lange believes that  with hardwork and focus during practice, the team can translate that to their games to have more success.

“We’ve got to be focused every minute of practice and build off of that and be focused during every inning and every pitch of our game…and it’s as simple as that,” Lange said.
