The girls varsity basketball team defeated Blue Valley North 61-38 Tuesday. Head coach Brian Bubalo said the first half was rough, but the girls pulled through for the second half.

At the end of the first half, the girls were behind 16-23, but turned it around for the second half. In the second half, the team scored 45 more points, while BVN only scored 15.

Senior Deanna Bugarinovic said the team picked up their momentum for a great second half.

“In the second half we played well together as a team and our shots were going in,” Bugarinovic said. “Everything went up pace.”

Bubalo said the team worked hard to keep the game going quickly. He said the girls kept the game going strong.

“[The team] was more organized on offense,” Bubalo said. “The press helped us push the pace of the game so all those things worked together.”

Bubalo and Bugarinovic said they hope the team will execute well in both halves instead of only one for the next game. Bugarinovic said she hopes for a even a better game next time.

“[We should] start off strong from the beginning and have an even bigger of a blowout,” Bugarinovic said.
